Armenian inscription in a stamp: “Soviet Socialist Republic of Armenia,” in the centre the two mountains of Ararat framed by ears of wheat and clusters of grapes. Below “Proletarians of all countries unite” in Armenian and Russian.
At the bottom left in a title block: “Soviet Armenia, 1920” with the name of the engraver (H. Haroutiounian), dated 1946.
Note the railway junction linking the lines from Turkey, Georgia and Iran and running along the Arax River, marking the Turkish border. The names are written in Armenian.
